Highly Suspect Releases New Music & Tour

Date:

Three-piece alternative rock band Highly Suspect are at it again, recently the band has given us a double shot of heartache filled music with the release of their new songs 16 and Upper Drugs. The first track and lead single, ‘16’, is a heartbreaking love song, the lead singer Johnny Stevens opening about a relationship that was ruined when he learned that the child they were expecting was in fact not his. The next song, ‘Upper drugs’ dives into the anxious mind ‘it’s not enough. I want to sleep forever but I keep waking up// but all I feel is pressure.’

These two songs are on the band’s upcoming third album, MCID, which we can look out for this November. This new album is expanding the boundaries of rock, featuring songs with hip artists like Young Thug, and Tee Grizzly as well as English rock band Nothing But Thieves and even French metal band Gojira. The band is dwelling into different realms while exploring dark themes of substance abuse and recovery, dealing with body issues, especially in a world where men aren’t supposed to be vulnerable in the first place and the everlasting political debate we find ourselves in.
