North by Northeast (NXNE) has revealed the 2019 version of its annual festival and this may just be the most impressive edition of it to date. Now in it’s 25th year, NXNE aims to provide a very memorable experience for Torontonians and those willing to travel to Toronto to take part in the festivities.
The epicenter of the festival is at Yonge-Dundas Square, Canada’s busiest intersection. During June 14-16, this intersection will be closed off and transformed into a festival village to host FREE concerts, talk sessions, comedy sessions, and more. This year’s most impressive attendees include Santigold, Killy, Anders, & 88GLAM.
In addition to this weekend, NXNE will also curate multiple shows across multiple venues in Toronto during its Club Land series. This series, spanning from June 7-16, will bring both established musicians to Toronto along with showcasing new music and new artists. Club Land is best enjoyed by music fans club hopping from venue to venue as just one wristband, priced for a very fair $29CAD, will allow priority access to all these shows. This year’s most impressive attendees include American Football and Cupcakke. Club Land wristbands can be purchased here.
Finally, NXNE also boasts Game Land. From June 7-9, online tournaments and a weekend of live gaming/eSports takes place at Stackt Market (28 Bathurst St). Here, professional gamers and amateurs alike compete for cash prizes in person and online.
All in all, NXNE has proved to provide something for everyone. Those living in Toronto and in neighboring cities are highly encouraged to check out the festivities. If 2019’s NXNE is reminiscent to that of the previous years, the events are ones that should not be missed.
