Bedroom-pop artist Conan Gray had produced his first EP as an artist on November 16th. The album consists of nostalgic tunes making everyone feel like they are back to their teenage years hanging out with friends with overall a good vibe being presented. The personal touch that is applied to this album is one that is Gray applies to all of his productions. It is no surprise why it was easy for Conan to gain a following so quickly as the way he makes you feel like you have been there with him through all his memories gives every song it’s own personal touch.
The YouTuber with almost a million subscribers has always been big figure in the music scene but as a cover artists writing a few originals here and there, his subscribers have been awaiting the indie singers music for a long time coming. The release of this EP will mark the start of a successful road for Conan with a tour coming up soon which has sold out nearly every date so far. Check out below for those dates alongside the ones which tickets are still available for. And why have people been falling deeply in love with the singer? It lies within his bubblegum-pop feel matching nostalgic lyrics and magnificent production that creates the perfect combination of aspects to gain Conan Gray a wide variety of listeners.
The whole five-song EP, as mentioned, has incredible production to it which, if you know anything of the artist, he records almost all of his music in his dorm room in central LA. Hearing such clear production on the vocal and background instrumental really grasps your attention from the start. Not only is the production spot on, but Gray just has the perfect mixture of catchy lyrics to mix with popular instrumental that can make anyone fall deeply in love with the music being produced.
Ranging from sounds like “Crush Culture” which can make anyone sing along with catchy beats and lyrics to songs like “Lookalike” which have a personal feel to match alongside elegantly played piano parts giving the song such a deep feeling. Conan has captured all the moods of music with just these five songs. I think it’s safe to say that everyone is excited to see what else the young singer can produce in the next few years, I know I am ecstatic to see Gray finally producing his melancholy, sentimental music on all platforms for listeners.
