Rising pop singer Lauv made a stop at Iron City in Birmingham, AL last week for a quick headlining show amidst his support run for Ed Sheeran. The energetic singer packed out the venue, performing his infectious brand of synth-pop for the eager audience. Lauv’s set consisted primarily of songs from his 2018 release I Met You When I Was 18 (the playlist) that covered a wide range of emotions: the schizophrenic mania of “Paranoid” and the gushy romanticism of “Paris in the Rain” were two early set highlights. After teasing us with the opening lines at the beginning of the set, Lauv began his first encore with his hit “I Like Me Better”, with couples in the crowd swaying and singing along.
