LIVE REVIEW: Clairo’s Aesthetic Captivates Sold-Out Crowd

Date:

Having started on Bandcamp not that long ago, Clairo has made some amazing strides in her singing career: from being an opener for Dua Lipa to going on her first U.S Tour, Clairo has accomplished quite a lot in this past year. Last week, the 20-year-old singer finished her Lazy Days Tour in her hometown of Atlanta, GA.

With a sold out crowd at Aisle 5, a long line of eager fans waited as doors were set to open at 8. Everyone quickly claimed their spots throughout the venue and waited for the opener, Garren Sean, to start off the night. Being a one man show, Sean started the night with a bang. Winning over the crowd with his smooth vocals and addictive beats, Sean had the whole venue dancing along to his whole set. Near the end of his set, Clairo and her band mates surprised everyone as they joined the stage and danced along to Sean’s closing song. With so much high energy throughout the space, the tone for the night was officially set.

Finally taking the stage, the crowd cheered as Clairo and her three band mates started the night with a fan favorite, B.O.M.D. As the singer constantly moved throughout the stage, the crowd danced and sang along to every single word. Despite being known for more slowed-down, mellow songs, Clairo started the night with a bop.

With constant interactions with the crowd, the singer’s quirky personality shined through. As someone shouted “Will you go to prom with me,” she quickly responded with, “whaaaaaaaaat?” making everyone laugh. Despite being soft spoken, Clairo was quite charming as the night progressed.

With her unique sound, Clairo captivated the crowd as she performed songs from her debut EP: Diary 001, songs from her SoundCloud days, and recent releases such as “Better,” and “Drown.” Considered an up-and-coming star, it’s clear that Clairo is one to keep your eye on. With a refreshing sound to the pop genre, Clairo’s aesthetic will for sure win you over. We can’t wait to see what’s to come in the following years. In the meanwhile, check out some of the images from the Atlanta show down below!
