A sold out Birmingham crowd was gifted with a spectacular performance from Manchester Orchestra as they concluded their latest tour behind their 2017 album A Black Mile to the Surface. The Atlanta band has been a joy to watch evolve since the release of their first album ten years ago, and fans of all ages and demographic were present to take in the 90 minute set. Opening with Black Mile cut “The Maze”, the band played a set that spanned their whole discography and shook the walls of the venue with its volume. They spoke very little and let their music communicate with the crowd, and the performance of the trio “The Alien / The Sunshine / The Grocery” off of Black Mile left the audience awestruck at the band’s perfect timing and ability to recreate the dense instrumentation of the album.
