LIVE REVIEW: UP10TION (업텐션) // Atlanta, GA

Date:

Going through their first North American tour, the ten piece boy group UP10TION stopped by Atlanta this past week to bring an action-packed show. Partnered with Studio PAV, the Atlanta show is the fourth stop of the North American tour.

With doors opening at 7PM, a long line of excited fans rushed into Center Stage, eager to watch their favorite Korean Idols perform. As more and more fans fill up the center stage floor, fans are seen carrying signs and singing along to background music as they wait for the show to start at 8PM.

Starting right on time, the venue’s lights quickly dimmed as an intro video begins to play. The video flashes and takes the audience down memory lane as scenes from all their previous title songs begin to appear on the screen: starting with their debut title song “So Dangerous,” to their most recent title song “Candyland.”  With constant screams from the crowd, it quickly gets louder as solo clips of each member flashed throughout the screen.

As the introduction comes to an end, the ten members: Jinhoo, Kuhn, Kogyeol, Wei, Bitto, Wooshin, Sunyoul, Gyujin, Hwanhee, Xiao take the stage fully dressed in black. As several lights of different colors begin to flash, a familiar beat begins to play as the crowd goes wild. Starting the night with a bang, Up10TION took the stage with a fan favorite, “Runner.” With impressive choreography, everyone cheered in awe as the talented group dominated the stage. Everyone danced in exact unison, while keeping steady vocals throughout the performance. Setting the tone for the rest of the night, it was clear that this show will be packed with amazing performances.

Finishing the first song, each member took the time to introduce themselves and thanked the crowd for coming out to the Atlanta show. Despite English not being their native tongue, the members of UP10TION impressed the crowd with their constant English interactions. With constant fan service, the group hosted a small Q&A, where fans were able to write down questions right before the show started, and showed off their personalities as they answered questions at random. Several funny moments were created, especially as Hwanhee yelled at  his members to shut up as he tried to hear a question from the crowd. Creating such personal moments, the 10 piece group created such a memorable night for all the Honey10’s that were present.

UP10TION proceeded to perform more of their hits, creating an intense energy throughout the venue. As different light colors brust from the stage, and fan chants took place. The night was constantly filled with action packed excitement both from the group and the crowd. Without showing any signs of exhaustion, the members kept their pace and level at 100 percent throughout the whole night.

Mid way into the show, UP10TION played a little game of charades with the crowd in order to demonstrate that they looked up and learned landmarks that can be found throughout Georgia. As each member tried to show off a landmark, the audience shouted out in hopes of guessing the correct answer. With constant laughter, the game of charades created a one of a kind moment that for sure will be remembered.

With the constant interaction, and the constant slayage on stage. UP10TION brought an amazing show to Atlanta that for sure gave some serious FOMO vibes for anyone who did not attend. Thanking the audience for such a memorable night and hoping that they will be able to come back soon, the boys won the hearts of many with both their amazing personalities and talent. It is highly recommended to attend one of the upcoming shows either in the NY metro area, Los Angeles, and San Jose. Tickets can be bought through Studio PAV by clicking the following link.
