During Covid, record production and shipping has been altered, if not halted altogether. But even during a pandemic, record stores proved essential to their community! Record Store Day 2021 has planned for a safe entry back and is ready to show off all the exclusive vinyls it has to offer. We here at Melodic Mag have teamed up with some of your favorite artists to do an exclusive giveaway for Record Store Day; to help promote what we all love, music (and of course, the little people).
“This is a day for the people who make up the world of the record store—the staff, the customers, and the artists—to come together and celebrate the unique culture of a record store and the special role these independently owned stores play in their communities. Special vinyl and CD releases and various promotional products are made exclusively for the day. Festivities include performances, cook-outs, body painting, meet & greets with artists, parades, DJs spinning records, and on and on.”
July 17th, Record Store Day is primarily focused on bringing revenue back into these independent stores as well as artists, labels, distributors, and more. With this, Record Stores across the nation will be releasing vinyls as Exclusives (released only at indie record stores), RSD First (found first at indue stores, but may be futher released in the future), and Small Run/Regional Titles (regionally based, press runs under 1000).
