ALBUM REVIEW: Lion Skin // Bones EP

Why You Need to Listen to Lion Skin’s EP Bones

By: Kaitlin Marron

The alternative rock duo based in Brighton and Boston, UK is ready to take the UK alt scene by storm. Bones—their EP set to release on November 2—consists of five lyrically and instrumentally creative songs. Similar sounds to Blink 182 and Owl City, Lion Skin brings their audience back to the mid 2000s (a.k.a. the simpler days).

In a desperate need to revisit your skinny jeans and high top converse, turn on “Lights” and “Daughters,” and it won’t take too long to find the angst teen that used to guide your everyday choices. Musically, Lion Skin makes good decisions with lyrics, melody and style. “Navigating Through the Stars” brings back layered vocals, while also creating irony through their slightly gloomy lyrics and their sappy melody.

Its made clear Lion Skin has potential from this diverse—yet symbiotic EP. Check them out on SoundCloud on November 2!
